ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Terri J. Brown

Executive Director

Terri founded We Are S.E.E.D.S. on July 12, 2003, out of her desire to show young ladies with similar experiences to her own that they have positive options in life. As a teen, Terri lacked positive role models, mentorship and coaching. Consequently, she became rebellious and engaged in destructive behavior which got her expelled from school, she was later readmitted after attending a school for at risk girls. Terri’s trials prepared her for her life’s work and many accomplishments.

Terri is an advocate for young girls and is a member of the Mount Airy Church of God In Christ. Terri holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Spanish from Lincoln University and a Business Degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Government Relations and a Juris Doctorate with aspirations of becoming a Youth Advocacy Lawyer. Her professional associations include The Urban League of Philadelphia Young Professionals and the Women’s Business Development Center.

When Terri ponders her background and looks at how she has recovered from her many atrocities, hardships, and low self-esteem, she knows it is only because of GRACE that she is where she is today.

Terri believes that if you give–it shall be given unto you and therefore, you will reap what you sow. Terri’s life mission is to sow a good S.E.E.D. into the lives of all young ladies that cross her path.
